The Story

Lisbon lies beneath a wounded sky.

The hour is late, the streets are empty, and the city glows in the shadow of something unspoken. From the hills, through stone alleys and iron rails, the last tram still moves — golden, solemn, and unwavering — climbing toward a crimson light that splits the heavens open. It is not a journey of escape, but of surrender. A final passage into mystery.

The first breath is radiant and sharp: pink grapefruit and lemon cut through the darkness like flashes of electric light, brilliant against the night. Then the air begins to smolder. Pink pepper and nutmeg rise with quiet intensity, warm and refined, like heat trapped beneath polished wood and brass.

As the tram ascends, the violence of the sky softens into something hauntingly elegant. A veil of white florals drifts through the smoke — pale, luminous, almost ghostlike — lending grace to the ruin, beauty to the inevitable. But beneath this fleeting bloom, the true soul of the fragrance waits.

Deep in the shadows, oud and oakmoss unfold with dark sophistication — rich, resinous, earthy, and timeless. They cling to the air like old secrets held within Lisbon’s walls, where stone, rain, and memory have aged together for centuries. At the base, amber glows with a molten warmth, while musk leaves a sensual, lingering trail that feels both intimate and eternal.

O Último Elétrico is a descent into elegance and darkness — a scent of illuminated ruin, velvet smoke, and the last ride through a city poised between beauty and oblivion.

Behind the Fragrance

I wanted a fragrance that creates that strange sensation of déjà vu, when something feels as though it has always existed, even the very first time you encounter it.

The structure began with citrus, but not the decorative kind. I pushed lemon and grapefruit far beyond elegance, into saturation. So radiant, it is almost metallic in its intensity. Cool aromatic facets slipped underneath. The opening had to feel immediate and alive.

From there, the composition softened into florals, though I never wanted them to feel romantic in the traditional sense. Jasmine stripped of indolic heaviness, lily of the valley rendered almost translucent. Lavender materials moving quietly to create the illusion of familiarity.

A flicker of pink pepper and nutmeg. Subtle heat beneath all that brightness. Perfection without contrast becomes sterile.

The base was where I allowed myself to become more classical. Mosses, woods, patchouli, vetiver. The old language of chypre perfumery. Certain musks were chosen for their ability to blur edges, to create a kind of glowing diffusion around the wearer.

And then there was the hidden detail that transformed the composition from beautiful into addictive.

Traditionally, fragrances of this style often hide a soft fruit somewhere beneath the structure. I am fascinated by that idea, but I didn’t want the obvious. I built an abstract accord around sweetened eucalyptus. Something cool and candied at once. Freshness behaving like fruit and sweetness behaving like air.

That contradiction became the soul of the fragrance.

Even the darker nuances were treated with restraint. A trace of cypriol was added not to imitate oud, but to create the impression of distance, like a faint smoke seen through white light.

In the end, the fragrance became exactly what I had hoped for: deeply agreeable, yet difficult to explain. It seduces through atmosphere. The kind of scent people feel they have known forever, until they realize they have never smelled it quite like this before.
