THE INSPIRATION BEHIND CORTEX
The olive tree, a symbol of peace and abundance, has a hidden meaning within its fruit. The cortex is the core of the olive seed, protected by a hard outer shell. It is the vital part that contains the seed’s life force. The cortex symbolizes the core of our being. It represents our inner strength, resilience, and the potential for growth and transformation.
Just as the cortex protects the olive seed, our inner core gives us the strength to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and achieve our dreams. Nurturing our cortex requires self-care, meditation, and connecting with others. These practices help us strengthen our inner core and develop our potential. Like the olive tree, we all have a cortex within us. By understanding its meaning and nurturing it, we can unlock our full potential and live a life of peace, abundance, and fulfillment.
THE PROCESS
We use the hot process method to make our shaving soaps. This allows us to apply premium ingredients like Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Oryza sativa (rice) bran oil, and Triticum aestivum (wheat) germ oil unsaponified for improved nourishing and moisturizing effects.
Aloe barbadensis leaf juice:
- Soothing and Anti-Inflammatory
Aloe vera leaf juice is a renowned anti-inflammatory. It contains compounds like aloin and aloesin, which help soothe and calm irritated skin. Shaving can often cause redness, razor burn, and itchiness. By using shaving soap infused with aloe vera, you’re giving your skin a soothing embrace that reduces inflammation and leaves it feeling refreshed and comfortable.
- Moisturizing and Hydrating
Along with its anti-inflammatory properties, aloe vera is an excellent moisturizer. It’s rich in polysaccharides and other hydrating agents that penetrate deep into the skin, providing long-lasting moisture. This is crucial for a smooth, comfortable shave, as dry skin can lead to razor drag, nicks, and cuts.
- Antibacterial and Antifungal
Aloe vera leaf juice possesses antibacterial and antifungal properties, which can help protect your skin from infections. This is especially beneficial for those who suffer from acne or shaving-related bumps. By using shaving soap with aloe vera, you’re creating a barrier that helps keep bacteria and fungi at bay.
- Healing and Regenerating
Aloe vera is known for its wound-healing properties. It promotes cell growth and regeneration, which can aid in the healing of small cuts or nicks that may occur during shaving. The antioxidants in aloe vera also help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals.
Oryza sativa (rice) bran oil:
Rice bran oil is an exceptional skin-nourishing ingredient that offers a multitude of benefits, including:
- Rich in antioxidants: Protects skin from damage caused by free radicals
- Moisturizing: Forms a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, keeping it hydrated
- Anti-inflammatory: Soothes irritation and reduces redness
- Absorbs quickly: Leaves no greasy residue, ensuring a comfortable shave
In addition to its immediate benefits, aloe vera can also contribute to long-term skin health. It contains vitamins A, C, and E, as well as antioxidants that fight against premature aging. By regularly using shaving soap with aloe vera, you’re helping to keep your skin looking youthful and radiant.
Triticum aestivum (wheat) germ oil:
Wheat germ oil is a powerhouse ingredient that’s packed with benefits for your skin. When added to shaving soap, it:
- Soothes and Calms: Its anti-inflammatory properties reduce redness and irritation caused by shaving.
- Moisturizes and Nourishes: Rich in vitamins A, D, and E, it deeply moisturizes and nourishes the skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.
Benefits for Shaving
Now let’s talk about the benefits of using wheat germ oil in shaving soap specifically:
- Reduced Razor Burn: Its soothing properties minimize razor burn and irritation.
- Improved Skin Texture: Antioxidants and vitamins help improve the skin’s texture and elasticity.
- Smoother Shaves: The moisturizing and nourishing ingredients make shaving a smoother and more comfortable experience.

“Load your brush by swirling it on the surface of the soap for 10 seconds. Begin by lathering in a bowl or directly on your face.”
The soap lathers easily, adding water increases the density of the lather and creates a luxurious, creamy, buttery texture.
The soap lather can hold up a lot of water, so do not be afraid to add more.
